"The opening acoustical guitar work on "Conjure Man" blew me away. I could tell that I was in for a ride and I took one. Why hasn't the public been notified that this kind of Rock and Roll is available for every music lover? I can't use the word blues for any of this band's fine music because it doesn't fit into the traditional category of blues. Basically, there is much more energy. There is a great blend of keyboards and guitar that allows for ample space to build power for the listener. Butch is a clean soulful singer and plays enough unique guitar licks to please even the fussiest of guitar fanatics."

"BUTCH TAYLOR & the PENETRATORS are a rock blues outfit from southern CT. I caught the band recently and they were getting the blues through to an attentive crowd at Cafe 9. ...They draw on some Willie Dixon and Robert Johnson material and also get funky with some Hendrix and SRV. One thing I really liked about them is when they played Willie Dixon or Muddy they didn't try to "rock it up". They laid down a great blues groove, and Butch is a soulful singer. Too many bands these days just yell out the vocals and go on a guitar extravaganza, not Butch. He wasn't afraid to bring the band way down and sing a great soul ballad. The flip side to this high energy band is the Hendrix tunes and even some Sly & the Family Stone grooves. Tasty wah-wah on Little Wing and some poppin' fresh funk bottom by Wendy on bass made this a versatile night of blues rock that had purists and rock fans calling for more. If they penetrate a club near you, check them out you won't be disappointed."
